Home Preparation:
• Insulation Check:
Inspect and reinforce insulation around windows, doors, and foundation to prevent heat loss.
• Pipe Protection:
Drain outdoor hoses, wrap exposed pipes with insulation, and let faucets drip slightly to prevent freezing.

Ensure your furnace is functioning properly and have extra fuel on hand if needed.
• Emergency Supplies:
Stock up on non-perishable food, water, batteries, flashlights, first-aid kit, and a battery-powered radio.
Personal Safety:
• Dress in Layers:
Wear multiple layers of loose-fitting clothing, including a hat, gloves, and scarf when going outside.

Change wet clothing promptly to avoid heat loss.
• Be Aware of Cold-Related Illnesses:
Monitor for signs of hypothermia (shivering, confusion, lethargy) and frostbite (numbness, skin discoloration).
